RGB Dynamic Stretch Ceilings
RGB dynamic stretch ceilings: colour that moves with the mood
An RGB dynamic stretch ceiling pairs a translucent membrane with colour-changing light. The ceiling can rest in soft white by day and shift into colour scenes for evenings, events or entertainment.

Colour moving across the ceiling
RGB LEDs behind the film change hue and brightness in a travelling wave, as addressable DMX control does (16 million colours, 2700K to 6500K in the supplier data).

What is it?
It is a translucent stretch ceiling lit by RGB (or RGB plus white) LED sources, controlled so the colour and brightness of the whole ceiling can be changed.
How it works
- Colour-capable LED sources are laid out in the void behind the membrane.
- A controller and driver set the colour, brightness and, if required, programmed transitions.
- The translucent membrane blends the individual points of light into a smooth surface of colour.
Key design characteristics
- Any colour on a smooth, even surface
- Control by wall panel, remote or app, depending on the controller chosen
- Preset scenes for daily use and events
- Can be combined with a plain white mode for ordinary use
Benefits
- One ceiling, many atmospheres
- Strong visual identity for hospitality and entertainment venues
- Colour can be toned down to neutral white when you want a calm room
Practical considerations
- Smooth colour mixing depends on the LED type, spacing and distance to the membrane. We plan these together.
- Choose a controller whose interface suits who will use it day to day.
- Saturated colour is best used deliberately, with a white mode for everyday comfort.
Suitable spaces
- Home theatres
- Lounges and bars
- Restaurants
- Gaming and entertainment venues
- Event spaces
- Retail feature zones
See more on the Spaces We Transform page.
Design possibilities
- Full-ceiling colour fields
- Framed colour panels
- Edge-lit colour borders around a white centre
- Programmed colour scenes
Lighting integration
Colour control is the point of this ceiling. Dimming, scene storage and connectivity depend on the controller selected, and should be confirmed with the supplier during design.
Architectural lighting optionsInstallation and maintenance
- A site visit and measurement come first, so the perimeter profile, any bulkheads and every light position can be planned before fabrication.
- The membrane is made to the measured room and tensioned into the profile on site, usually after wet trades and painting are complete.
- Because the ceiling sits below the structural slab, the available void depends on the room. Ask for a void check if you plan to add lighting behind the membrane.
- Dust the surface gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners.
- Keep sharp tools and hot work away from the membrane. Ask us about repairs rather than attempting one yourself.
- Control hardware should stay accessible so settings can be changed or serviced without opening the ceiling.
