Lacquer Stretch Ceilings
Lacquer stretch ceilings with a deep, glossy finish
A lacquer stretch ceiling has a glossy membrane that picks up the light and colour of the room. The result is a ceiling with depth, a polished surface that feels closer to fine furniture than to paint.

A glossy lacquer finish reflecting the room
The lacquer film reflects the pendant lights and walls beneath it. The reflections move as the lights swing and the viewpoint changes.

What is it?
A lacquer stretch ceiling is a stretch membrane with a high-gloss surface. Gloss gives deeper colour and a partial reflection of the space beneath it.
How it works
- A glossy membrane is chosen in your colour.
- It is tensioned into the perimeter profile so the surface stays flat, which is what gives a clean reflection.
- Room lighting and furnishings are reflected softly across the surface, adding perceived depth.
Key design characteristics
- Rich colour with a polished surface
- Subtle reflection of lights and room features
- Pairs well with recessed spotlights and linear lighting
- Strong colours, from deep darks to clean whites
Benefits
- Makes a room look more spacious and bright
- A premium finish for entrance halls, lounges and showrooms
- Smooth, seamless look
Practical considerations
- Gloss shows any unevenness in the room geometry as reflections, so careful installation matters.
- Reflective surfaces show fittings clearly. Plan light positions deliberately.
- Very dark or very bright colours behave differently under light. Ask to see a sample in your lighting.
Suitable spaces
- Living rooms
- Entrance lobbies
- Hotel corridors
- Showrooms
- Restaurants and lounges
- Reception areas

Design possibilities
- Pure white gloss
- Deep charcoal and midnight tones
- Rich colour accents
- Gloss feature panels in a satin ceiling
Lighting integration
Recessed lights and linear profiles reflect strongly in gloss, so their position and quantity are worth planning in advance.
Architectural lighting optionsInstallation and maintenance
- A site visit and measurement come first, so the perimeter profile, any bulkheads and every light position can be planned before fabrication.
- The membrane is made to the measured room and tensioned into the profile on site, usually after wet trades and painting are complete.
- Because the ceiling sits below the structural slab, the available void depends on the room. Ask for a void check if you plan to add lighting behind the membrane.
- Dust the surface gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners.
- Keep sharp tools and hot work away from the membrane. Ask us about repairs rather than attempting one yourself.
- Use a soft, damp cloth only if needed, then dry. Avoid anything abrasive that could dull the gloss.
