Complementary to stretch ceilings
Architectural lighting that works with the ceiling
Light and ceiling are designed together. Profiles, lines and shapes of light sit within or beside a stretch ceiling, so the room is lit by the architecture itself.

How lighting and stretch membranes work together
A stretch ceiling holds its membrane in a slim perimeter profile, and that profile can also carry light. Behind a translucent membrane, light spreads into a glowing surface. Beside or below an opaque membrane, lines and shapes of light draw geometry across the ceiling.
Lighting is most successful when it is planned with the ceiling, because void depth, access for servicing and light positions all depend on each other. We treat it as part of the stretch ceiling design, not a separate trade.
Lighting concepts
Six ways to integrate light

Geometric shape lighting
Squares, circles, triangles and hexagons of light set into or beneath the ceiling plane. They can sit inside a flat membrane as luminous windows or stand out as graphic shapes.

Profile and linear lighting
Slim aluminium profiles that carry a continuous line of light. They can run along the edge of a stretch ceiling, divide it into zones or draw a line across the room.

Arc and wave lighting
Curved light lines that follow a gentle arc or a flowing wave, softening a room and giving the ceiling movement.

Recessed and suspended linear lighting
Linear fittings set flush into the ceiling or hung just below it. Recessed versions keep the ceiling clean, and suspended ones add a layer of depth.

Custom ceiling-integrated lighting
Bespoke arrangements designed around the ceiling form, from lit cut-outs and shadow gaps to light that traces an organic shape.

Dimming and RGB control
Controllers that adjust brightness, colour temperature or full colour. A single ceiling can be bright for work and warm for evenings.

Custom lighting systems
Shapes, profiles and track
Aluminium-framed lighting made to your design, with a polycarbonate, PMMA or stretch fabric diffuser. Lighting is the heart of the room, so we treat shape, brightness and colour as design choices.
What can be customised
- Timer and schedule function
- Colour adjustment: dark and bright, warm and cool, multi-colour, with voice assistants
- Diffusers in polycarbonate, PMMA or stretch fabric
- Power: 24 V constant voltage or constant current
- LED options: rigid PCB with or without lens
- Aluminium coating: powder coating, anodising or mirror polishing
- Aluminium box depth from 35 mm to 250 mm
A colour rendering index (CRI) of 90 or more shows colours accurately; the catalogue lists CRI above 80 and above 90 options.
Planning considerations
Good ceiling lighting is decided early. These are the questions we work through with you.
- How deep is the void available above the membrane?
- Which light source suits the effect: panels, strips, profiles or fibre-optic?
- How will the lights be reached for servicing in future?
- Should the lighting be dimmable or colour-changing, and who will operate it?
- Which electrical and driver provisions are needed, and where will they be housed?
Specific fittings, power ratings and warranties depend on the products chosen and are confirmed in your quote.
