Mirror Stretch Ceilings
Mirror stretch ceilings that add height, light and drama
A mirror stretch ceiling has a highly reflective membrane. It repeats the room and its lighting overhead, giving a sense of height and a dramatic, jewel-like atmosphere.

A mirror finish doubling the room
The reflective film shows the pendant lights, floor and walls in the ceiling, making the space feel taller. The supplier data lists 95% reflection.

What is it?
A mirror stretch ceiling uses a membrane with a reflective finish. It is lighter and more flexible than a glass mirror and is tensioned like any stretch ceiling.
How it works
- A reflective membrane is selected.
- It is tensioned into the perimeter profile to keep the surface as flat as possible.
- The room is reflected on the ceiling plane, with the clarity of reflection depending on the membrane and installation.
Key design characteristics
- High reflectivity
- Doubles the visual presence of room lighting and features
- Works as a full ceiling or a feature area
Benefits
- Makes a room feel taller and brighter
- Distinctive and theatrical effect
- A lighter alternative to heavy mirrored construction
Practical considerations
- A reflective ceiling shows everything beneath it. Furnishing, lighting layout and floor finishes become part of the look.
- Reflection quality depends on flatness, so the room should be assessed on site.
- Not every room suits mirror finishes. We can advise on feature areas versus full ceilings.
Suitable spaces
- Lounges and bars
- Luxury residences
- Showrooms
- Hotel lobbies
- Salons and boutiques

Design possibilities
- Full mirror ceilings
- Mirror panels inside a plain ceiling
- Combined mirror and lit sections
Lighting integration
Reflections double your lighting, so fewer, better placed fittings often work best. Linear and concealed lighting create dramatic effects.
Architectural lighting optionsInstallation and maintenance
- A site visit and measurement come first, so the perimeter profile, any bulkheads and every light position can be planned before fabrication.
- The membrane is made to the measured room and tensioned into the profile on site, usually after wet trades and painting are complete.
- Because the ceiling sits below the structural slab, the available void depends on the room. Ask for a void check if you plan to add lighting behind the membrane.
- Dust the surface gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners.
- Keep sharp tools and hot work away from the membrane. Ask us about repairs rather than attempting one yourself.
- Reflective surfaces show marks. Wipe gently with a clean, soft cloth.
